Franklin Pierce Sixth at Blazer Invitational
Rossi places seventh overall with round of 80
CHICOPEE, Mass. (April 25, 2008) - Franklin Pierce University posted a sixth-place finish at the Blazer Invitational, hosted by Elms College, on the 6,742-yard, par 71 layout at Chicopee Country Club today.
Franklin Pierce posted a 361 team score on the day, while host Elms took the team title with a score of 320. Neil Daigneault of Elms earned medalist honors, when he edged Chris Hamel of Husson College on the first playoff hole after the two carded five-over-par rounds of 76.
Senior Kevin Rossi (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) led Franklin Pierce's contingent as he carded an 80 (43-37) to place seventh overall. Sophomore Mike Kusz (Paxton, Mass./Wachusett Regional) added a career-low round of 89 (45-44) to finish 23rd.
Franklin Pierce returns to the links on Wednesday when it hosts its Spring Invitational at The Shattuck in Jaffrey beginning at noon.
