American International Wins Franklin Pierce Autumn Invitational
Mesheau leads Yellow
Jackets with round of 76 to earn medalist honors
JAFFREY, N.H. (October 16, 2007) – American
International College captured the Franklin Pierce University
Autumn Invitational at the par-71 The Shattuck this afternoon.
American International captured the five-team event with a team
score of 317. Franklin Pierce’s “B” squad took
second with a score of 344, edging the Ravens “A” squad
by three strokes. Worcester State College was just a stroke behind
the Ravens with a score of 348 for fourth place, while Springfield
College rounded out the field with a score of 377.
Sophomore Andrew Mesheau (Monson, Mass.) paced American
International with a five-over-par round of 76 to earn medalist
honors at the event. Mesheau edged teammate, freshman Garrett Beyor
(Monson, Mass.) and Worcester State freshman Bob Bruso (Auburn,
Mass.), by a stroke as each carded 77’s. AIC sophomore Mike
McMillan (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) posted an 80 as the Yellow
Jackets took three of the top four positions on the leader
board.
Senior Sebastiano Amara (Woburn, Mass./Woburn)
led Franklin Pierce’s “B” squad with a round of
82 to place fifth overall. Senior Cory Dunn (Port
Jefferson, N.Y./Comsewogue) and sophomore Brandon
Weiner (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) both carded 84s to finish
in a tie for sixth overall for the Ravens.
Franklin Pierce concludes its fall season on next Monday and
Tuesday at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA)
Championships on Cape Cod.
