Franklin Pierce Fourth at Saint Anselm Fall Classic
Lupinek leads Ravens contingent with seventh place showing
CANDIA, N.H. (October 12, 2006) - Franklin Pierce placed fourth at the Saint Anselm Fall Classic on the 6,550-yard, par-71 layout at Candia Woods Country Club this afternoon.
Franklin Pierce compiled a team score of 327 at the one-day event, won by Bentley College with a score of 311. Assumption College (315) was second, while host Saint Anselm (320) took third. Assumption's Patrick Hubley earned medallist honors in a playoff with Bentley's Ryan Parker after both carded three-over-par rounds of 74.
Sophomore Josh Lupinek (East Haddam, Conn./Nathan Hale-Ray) led Franklin Pierce with a 79 to place seventh overall. Classmate Steve Balchunas (Brockton, Mass./Coyle-Cassidy) placed tenth after carding an 80, while sophomore Corey Dunn (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Comsewogue) posted an 83 for 12th overall.
Franklin Pierce is back on the links on Monday for the Assumption College Division II Shootout at Blackstone Country Club.
