Franklin Pierce Places 12th at River Hawk Invitational
Lupinek's second round 77 places him in eighth-place tie to lead Ravens
ANDOVER, Mass. (April 23, 2007) - The Franklin Pierce men's golf team placed 12th at the two-day River Hawk Invitational, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell, on the par-72 Andover Country Club, which concluded this afternoon.
Franklin Pierce posted a two-day score of 682, including a score of 338 on Monday. Bryant University took the team title with a 635 (312-323), edging second-place Le Moyne College (322-315=637) by two strokes. Bryant's Jason Thresher (76-75=151) out-lasted Dan Psinakis (75-76=151) with a birdie on the fourth playoff hole to take medalist honors.
Sophomore Josh Lupinek (East Haddam, Conn./Nathan Hale-Ray) finished tied for eighth overall (out of 75 individuals) as he led Franklin Pierce with a two-day total of 159 (82-77). Lupinek's second day score of 77 was just four strokes off the pace for the day. Freshman Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H./Conant) posted a two-day score of 174 (87-87) for the Ravens and placed 57th overall.
