Franklin Pierce Places 16th at Lou Flumere Collegiate Invitational
Rossi paces Ravens with 83 to finish in top half of the field, individually
STOW, Mass. (April 11, 2007) - The Franklin Pierce men's golf team opened its spring season with a 16th-place finish at the Lou Flumere Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Bentley College, on the par-72 Stow Acres Country Club today.
Franklin Pierce posted a team score of 342 to place 16th out of 21 teams competing at the event - sixth among NCAA Division II programs. Salem State College won the team title with a 307 team score. UMass-Dartmouth's Tyler Kett earned medalist honors, outlasting two competitors through two playoff holes after carding a two-over-par round of 74.
Junior Kevin Rossi (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) carded an 83 to lead Franklin Pierce and place 44th out of 105 individuals, overall. Classmate Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) posted a score of 84 (49th), while freshman Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H./Conant) notched an 86 (60th).
