Franklin Pierce Tenth in Tight NE-10 Championship

Greene places 19th to lead Raven individuals

MARCELLUS, N.Y. (September 26, 2005) - Franklin Pierce placed tenth, just five strokes out of sixth place, at the 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Championships at the par-72 Links at Sunset Ridge over the weekend.

Franklin Pierce posted a two-day score of 641 (317-324) at the event, just five strokes behind sixth-place Bentley College (305-331/636). Bryant University claimed its 20th NE-10 Championship with a two-day score of 609 (299-310). The Bulldogs came out on the good end of the NE-10 tiebreaker rule to top host Le Moyne (293-316/609) thanks to its lower Sunday score.

Freshman Jacob Greene (Gardner, Mass./The Winchendon School) led all Franklin Pierce golfers with a two-day score of 159 (82-77) for a 19th-place finish. Le Moyne's Joe Tesori earned medallist honors with a two-day score of one-over-par 145 (69-76).

Sophomore Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford), tied for ninth after the first day, finished 32nd with a 161 (75-86) over the two days, while senior David Reid (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) carded a two-day score of 162 (84-78) for 37th place.

Franklin Pierce returns to Syracuse, N.Y., this weekend for the ECAC Division II Championships, again hosted by Le Moyne, on Sunday and Monday.
