Franklin Pierce Wins Spring Invitational

Ravens round out spring season by winning home event; UML's Lamond earns medallist honors

JAFFREY, N.H.  (May 4, 2005) - The Franklin Pierce men's golf team rounded out its 2004-05 campaign by winning its spring home invitational at The Shattuck this afternoon.

Franklin Pierce posted a 353 team score to finish ten strokes ahead of UMass Lowell (363). American International College (372) and Stonehill College (383) rounded out the four-team field.

UMass Lowell sophomore Tom Lamond (Dracut, Mass./Dracut) took medallist honors as he carded a six-over-par round of 77 on a cold and windy day. He out-paced Franklin Pierce senior Nick Matulonis (Springfield, Vt./Springfield), who posted an 85 for second place, and teammate Adam Jervis (Dracut, Mass./St. John's Prep), who registered an 86.

Junior David Reid (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) and freshman Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) both posted rounds of 88 to help pace the Ravens to the team title.
