Franklin Pierce Places Fourth at Blazer Invitational
Jasinksi cards 77 for fourth place individual finish, misses playoff by a stroke
CHICOPEE, Mass. (May 3, 2005) - The Franklin Pierce men's golf team placed fourth out of eight teams at the Blazer Inviational, hosted by Elms College, at the 6,742-yard par-71 Chicopee Country Club over the weekend.
Franklin Pierce posted a 334 team score, finishing 14 strokes behind host Elms who took the team title with a 320 team score. Husson College (327) was second and Western New England College (328) was third.
Freshman Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) carded a 77 for the Ravens, finishing just one stroke off the pace of the leaders. Neil Daigneault of Elms won a three-way playoff after posting a round of 76 to take win medallist honors.
Freshman Nathan Vassill (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) posted an 83 to place ninth overall, while senior Nick Matulonis (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) registered an 85 to finish 16th.
Franklin Pierce rounds out its 2004-05 season when it hosts the Franklin Pierce Invitational on Wednesday at noon.
