Hodgman Places 5th at Joe Plante Memorial

Ravens finish 8th with 329 team score

CHARLTON, Mass. (September 18, 2002) - Franklin Pierce junior Alex Hodgman (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) fired a round of 76 to tie for fifth place at the Joe Plante Memorial Tournament, hosted by Assumption College, at Heritage Country Club this afternoon.

Hodgman led Franklin Pierce to an eighth-place finish in the ten-team event with a 329 team score. Bentley College captured the team championship with a 307 team score.

Hodgman finished just four strokes off the pace set by medallist Jay Kohlman of Saint Thomas Aquinas College.

Sophomore Nick Matalonis (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) fired a round of 81 for the Ravens, while junior Mike Smith (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) added an 83.

The Ravens return to the links on this weekend for the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Saturday and Sunday in Syracuse, N.Y.
