Southern New Hampshire Claims Franklin Pierce Invitational
Rivard Fires Round of 78 to Earn Medalist Honors and Lead SNHU
JAFFREY, N.H. (Sept. 12, 2001) - Southern New Hampshire University posted a collected team score of 336 to claim the Franklin Pierce Invitational at The Shattuck Golf Course yesterday afternoon.
Penmen junior Chris Rivard earned medalist honors with a round of seven-over-par 78 on the par 71 course to lead the SNHU charge. Rivard was followed closely by classmate Matt Arvanitis with an 80.
Saint Anselm College placed second in the four team even with a 351 team score, Franklin Pierce finished third with a 357 team score, while Springfield College posted a score of 391 to finish fourth.
Sophomore Aaron Nackoul (Pittsfield, Mass./Pittsfield) finished third in the individual event, firing a round of 82, to lead Franklin Pierce.
The Franklin Pierce golf team returns to the links on Saturday and Sunday when they participate in the Duke Nelson Invitational in Middlebury, Vt.
