FRANKLIN PIERCE CLAIMS SAINT ANSELM AUTUMN INVITE

GOFFSTOWN, NH (Oct. 6) - Franklin Pierce, led by a first place finish from Aaron Nackoul and a second place finish from John Learson, captured the 2000 Saint Anselm College Autumn Invitational this afternoon.

The tournament, slowed by a day-long autumn drizzle took place at the par 71 Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown, NH.

Nackoul shot a 72 on the day, taking individual champion honors, while Learson was four strokes back with a 76. Nackoul's round set an Franklin Pierce school record for low score in a single round.

Host Saint Anselm posted a strong showing, finishing second. Justin Keller led the Hawks, finishing tied for fourth with a 8. Four Saint Anselm golfers placed in the top including Mike Davis who tied for seventh with an 82, along with Jack Jerzyk and Kevin Shanahan who shot 83 as part of a tie for tenth.

New Hampshire College placed third, paced by Sunny Sun's tying for seventh place finish with an 82.
