DATE: Wednesday, January 8, 2025
LOCATION: Ann and Alfred Goldstein Fitness Center, Pleasantville, N.Y.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Pace started strong, taking an early lead and maintaining control for much of the first half.
  • Demariontay Hall's (Atlanta, Ga.) drive and Donte Pope's (Middletown, Conn.) four-point play helped the Ravens chip away at the deficit, narrowing the Setters' lead to just four at one point.
  • Pierce Prendergast (Bayport, N.Y.) scored a late layup off an assist from Saeer Miller (Philadelphia, Pa.) to bring the Ravens within three, but Pace ended the half with a layup to lead 37-32 at halftime.
  • Miller and Hall opened the second-half scoring for the Ravens, with Hall completing a three-point play in the paint.
  • Pace responded with three straight baskets, but Prendergast's four-point play after being fouled on a three-pointer kept the Ravens within striking distance at 47-41.
  • Despite a late push from Hall, whose basket and and-one play brought the score to 63-56, and a clutch three-pointer by Ja'Keese Kemp (Lakeland, Fla.), the Setters maintained their lead, capitalizing on frequent fouls and free-throw opportunities.
  • Pope's free throws with one minute left cut Pace's led to single digits (71-80), but Pace controlled the final moments to secure an 82-71 victory.
