Two players & Head Coach of Men's Basketball Receive NE10 Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass. (February 28, 2022) – It was a great start to the week for Franklin Pierce University as a trio of members from the Men's Basketball team garnered end-of-season awards from the Northeast-10 Conference, announced on Monday. Junior guard Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, MD) received Player of the Year honors, in addition to All-Conference First-Team accolades. Joining him on the podium, freshman guard Mohamad Traore (Hyde Park, Mass.) was announced to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team, and Head Coach David Chadbourne obtained Coach of the Year distinction. 

From start to finish, Isaiah Moore never missed a beat this season, appearing in 22 regular season contests for the Ravens, meanwhile consistently putting up double-digit points.  Moore finished the regular season leading all NE10 players in points per game (23.0), and second among shooters in total points scored this year with 530, shattering his previous single season best of 360 (2019-20). Moore was previously named to the All-Rookie team during the 2018-19 season. Earlier in the season, Moore was named the NE10 Player of the Week Through his collegiate career, this is his first time being selected All-Conference.

Freshman Mohamad Traore entered the show strong this year, appearing in all 24 regular season games for the Ravens. Throughout that span, Traore would tally an average of 13.8 points per game, 92 rebounds and log a hefty amount of playing time with 786 total minutes.

Head coach David Chadbourne, in his 23rd season with the Ravens, is receiving his second Coach of the Year honors, with his previous honors coming during the 2011-12 campaign.  Up to this point, Chadbourne has coached the Ravens to a 389-318 all-time record, along with 16 Northeast-10 Tournament appearances, 3 trips to the NCAA Tournament, and a visit to the Elite Eight (2012-13). This season, Chadbourne boasts a respectable 15-9 record.

The Ravens will look to continue their playoff push with a Quarterfinal Round matchup this evening versus Assumption at 7pm E.T.
