RINDGE, N.H. (February 18, 2022) -- It was certainly a tale of two halves on Friday evening in the Fieldhouse. The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team started strong, as the Ravens ran up a 54-27 halftime lead over visiting Le Moyne. The tables turned in the second half, as the Dolphins got on the comeback trail. Franklin Pierce was outscored by 19 in the second half, but was able to hang on for an 80-72 win in the Northeast-10 Conference affair. Junior Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) led all players and four Ravens in double digits with 22 points, while sophomore Luke Sutherland scored 18 off the bench to pace Le Moyne.

The Ravens moved to 14-8 (11-6 NE10) with the win, while the Dolphins fell to 12-13 (8-10 NE10).

After both teams exchanged buckets for the first 10 minutes of the first half, Franklin Pierce went on a 35-11 run to close out the half. Junior Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) led the way with 15 first-half points, and Moore added 14, as the Ravens looked to run away from the Dolphins. The Ravens shot 50% (7-for-14) from the three-point line in the first half and 60% from the field on the way to the 27-point halftime lead.

Things took a drastic turn in the second half, and Le Moyne made an attempt at an epic comeback. In the early minutes of the half, both teams traded baskets again. With nine minutes left in the game, Le Moyne went on a 16-1 run to cut the deficit to six points (71-65), with 2:22 to play. Franklin Pierce went 9-for-12 from the free-throw line over the final two minutes, which proved to be enough to hang on for the eight-point victory.

The Ravens finished the night shooting 44.4% (28-for-63) from the field and 31.8% (7-for-22) from the three-point line, though they went 0-for-8 from long range in the second half. On the other side, the Dolphins shot 37.3% (25-for-67) from the field and 27.3% (6-for-22) from the three-point line.

Four Franklin Pierce starters finished in double digits, but Moore once again was the leader on the court for the Ravens. He went 10-for-22 from the floor and had two assists along with five rebounds.

Sutherland came off the bench and shot 7-for-15 from the field for 18 points for Le Moyne. Freshman Christian Davis finished the night with a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Three Dolphin starters finished the night in double digits.

The Ravens have two games left in the regular season, and both are at home. Franklin Pierce will be in action on Sunday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m., against Bentley University, which the Ravens beat on the road in mid-December.
