Kyle Washington enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University football team in 2020-21. He serves as the teams offensive coordinator, while also coaching the quarterbacks and running backs.

Rindge will be the third collegiate coaching stop for Washington, who has previously worked at both the Division I FCS and Division II levels. During the 2019 season, he served as the offensive quality control and quarterbacks coach at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. Prior to that, Washington spent the 2016 and 2017 campaigns as a graduate assistant coach working with the running backs at his alma mater, Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

As an undergraduate, Washington put together a decorated four-year career on the field for Angelo State (bio). A three-time All-Lone Star Conference selection at quarterback for the Rams, he took home LSC Offensive Player of the Year honors in both 2014 and 2015, becoming the first player in program history to win the award in back-to-back seasons. During his senior season in 2015, Washington led the nation in total offense, with 411.1 yards per game, and led an offense which led the country in the same category (560 yards/game). He was a D2football.com All-America selection in both 2014 and 2015, as well as a 2014 semifinalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, presented to the most valuable Division II player in the country. As of 2020, Washington owns every significant career passing record in Angelo State annals, including completions (766), yards (9485), yards per game (225.8), touchdowns (84) and completion percentage (61.6%). A three-year team captain for the Rams, he found success in the classroom as well, as a two-time selection as LSC Academic Player of the Year.

Following his collegiate career, Washington went on to earn a pair of professional camp invites in 2016. The NFL's Philadelphia Eagles invited him to participate in the franchise's rookie mini-camp as a wide receiver (link). He went on to participate in training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League as well.

Originally from Humble, Texas, Washington is a two-time graduate of Angelo State University. He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2014, and followed up with his master's degree in education (coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration) in 2016.
