Northeast-10 Conference Football Weekly Report

MANSFIELD, Mass. (September 12, 2022) -- Freshman Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, N.J.) of the Franklin Pierce University football team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on Sept. 11, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office. It is Benitez's second straight Rookie of the Week selection to open the season.

Benitez punted four times in a 27-6 loss at Carson-Newman on Saturday, for a total of 149 yards. That was good for an average of 37.3 yards per punt, and he put two of his four kicks inside the opponent's 20-yard line.

On the season, Benitez has averaged 39.3 yards per punt across 12 attempts.

Benitez and the Ravens (0-2) are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17, when they return home to open their NE10 schedule against Saint Anselm at 6 p.m. at Sodexo Field.
