RINDGE, N.H. (February 2, 2022) – As he continues to build his program from the ground up, head coach Russell Gaskamp and the Franklin Pierce University football team are proud to announce their 2022 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon. As of press time, the class consists of 16 student-athletes from six states. A full list of commitments can be found below, and video comments from coach Gaskmap are linked at the top of this story.

“While we are rightfully celebrating the signing of the high school players of the 2022 class, the story for this group really began with the four mid-year offensive players we signed in December; all four of them project to start or be heavy contributors for us next fall,” said coach Gaskamp of the recruiting class. “As for the high school group we went in looking to bolster the offensive and defensive lines and we did just that. Over half of the class plays in the trenches.”

The bulk of the recruiting class will not be traveling far to get to the Granite State, as nine of the 14 commits hail from New England or New Jersey, including a half-dozen from Massachusetts. The Ravens also added a pair of recruits from football-crazy Florida to round out the class.

The 2022 recruiting class will hit the field for the first time in September, when the Ravens open their third season. Franklin Pierce has four home games on the docket for 2022, as they will host Saint Anselm, Bentley, Pace and Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play. The team’s full schedule will be announced at a later date.

“We had to add some offensive playmakers and we love the four guys we were able to sign,” added Gaskamp. “They are all versatile and dynamic and will be great players for us in the immediate future.  On the defensive side of the ball we found five players that could cover guys in the passing game and who were physical and fearless to throw their hat in there and stop the run when needed… Unlike years in the past since starting the program we had a very specific plan for this class and I believe we did a great job putting this group together.”

A full list of committed student-athletes follows, broken down by home state, with their high school in parentheses. For bio info on the signees, please see our Signing Day Central 2022 page at: https://www.fpuravens.com/sports/fball/2021-22/SigningDay2022/SD-Central
