HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Ravens broke open the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with an impressive power display. Junior left fielder Jockey Acker (Upton, Mass.) got things started with a two-run blast to left center, bringing home senior designated hitter Elias Meredith (Philadelphia, Pa.) to put Franklin Pierce up 2-0.
- Senior second baseman Kiobel Lugo (Boston, Mass.) followed suit with a solo home run to left field, extending the lead to 3-0. The home run parade continued as junior first baseman Nolan DeAndrade (Bridgewater, Mass.) crushed a solo shot to left, making it a 4-0 game.
- Franklin Pierce continued to add to their lead in the fifth inning when Ivan Arias (Boston, Mass.) lined a two-run single to right field, scoring Anthony Marcano (Boston, Mass.) and DeAndrade to push the lead to 6-0.
- In the sixth, Acker capitalized on a defensive muscue, scoring on a caught stealing attempt to make it a 7-0 game.
- Saint Anselm broke through in the seventh inning with an RBI single by Bourdeau, but the Ravens quickly responded in the bottom half as Devin Kulas (Southington, Conn.) singled to left field to bring home Shane Hewlette (Deer Park, N.Y.) and extend the lead to 8-1.
- The Hawks tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning with an RBI double from McCarron and an RBI single from Howrigan, cutting the deficit to 8-3. However, Franklin Pierce put the game out of reach in the bottom half of the frame. Lugo scored on a wild pitch, and Arias and Kulas each drew bases-loaded walks to force in runs, giving the Ravens an 11-3 lead. A groundout by Brycen Tetler (Plymouth, Mass.) brought home another run, capping the scoring at 12-3.
