MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (2/22/25) – The Franklin Pierce Ravens baseball have their bats back the pitching in a victory against St. Thomas Aquinas in an 8-5 game Saturday afternoon.

Score: Franklin Pierce 8 (4-3, 0-0 NE-10), St. Thomas Aquinas 5 (0-3, 0-0 ECC)
Records: The Ripken Experience, Myrtle Beach, S.C.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The junior right hander, Drew DeLucia (Medway, Mass.) gets the start on the mound for the Ravens as he provides a solid outing for the Ravens. Despite letting up four runs while junior infielder Kyle DeCresce and Senior outfielder, Ryan Appell had DeLucia's number, he still kept the Spartans away from the win while tallying 5 strikeouts.
  • The Ravens got things started early offensively by Nolan DeAndrade (Bridgewater, Mass) homering in the first inning.
  • In the 7th inning, freshman right hander Damien Carter (Milford, Mass.) comes in for relief in a tight game where the Ravens are still looking to eventually take the lead. The young wing would end up going the distance as Carter finished the game only allowing 1 hit in his three innings of work. Carter was tuning his craft as he was executing his fastball and slider.
  • DeAndrade added to his totals with a triple later in the game, while also tallying 3 RBIs in his performance.
  • A junior first baseman, Colin Hoffman (Longmeadow, Mass.), delivers the go-ahead RBI as he pinch-hit late in the game and drives in what the Ravens needed in their 8-5 victory.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • The Spartans outhit the Ravens 10-7.
  • The Ravens left 9 on base, while the Spartans stranded 6.
  • DeLucia threw 6 innings while earning the no-decision. Carter gets the Save and the win for the Ravens, striking out 3 in the 3 innings of work.
