RINDGE, N.H. (5/25/23) – Franklin Pierce baseball junior shortstop Ian Battipaglia (Cheshire, Conn.) added another regional prize to his repertoire earlier this week, earning Second Team All-East Region accolades from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). The official announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon by the organization offices.

For Battipaglia, who has previously been a consensus All-East Region honoree through the NBCWA, D2CCA and ABCA, is now on his third round of D2CCA Regional honors in his collegiate career.

Battipaglia cracked the top-10 in the individual Northeast-10 Conference leaderboards in batting average (.381), and was ranked 5^th amongst conference players in stolen bases (24). As a Second Team and All-Defensive Team selection from the NE10 in 2023, Battipaglia made his presence known on a regular basis at the plate for Pierce with a whopping 75 hits, including four home runs, 20 doubles, five triples and 38 runs batted in, which added to a .488 on-base percentage and a .594 slugging percentage across 54 games and 197 at-bats.

This season, the Ravens finished out play with a 34-19 overall record while going 17-7 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents.
