Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference

MANSFIELD, Mass. (February 17, 2022) -- Franklin Pierce University has had eight student-athletes earn Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the fall season, as announced earlier this month by the league office. The selected Ravens were among 90 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the NE10.

Three selections from the men’s soccer team led the way for the Ravens: graduate student Carlos Ferrando Felis (Tavernes de la Valldigna, Spain), graduate student Alan Kehoe (Dublin, Ireland) and junior Kosta Maniatis (Montreal, Quebec).

Franklin Pierce also had one selection apiece in five other sports. Football freshman Trey Sejour (Everett, Mass.), women’s soccer junior Viridiana Vazquez Kloss (Veracruz, Mexico), men’s cross country senior Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.), women’s cross country graduate student Alena Masterson (Pelham, N.H.), and field hockey sophomore Julia Rooijakkers (Eindhoven, Netherlands) all earned the accolade.

Fenoff is a second-time Academic All-Conference selection in cross country (2019), and has added a pair of awards in outdoor track & field along the way to make it four overall. The other seven Ravens all picked up their first Academic All-Conference plaudits.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must fulfill each of the following criteria: (1) participated in at least half of the team’s competitions as a starter or significant contributor, (2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and (3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The teams are chosen by the vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives.

Franklin Pierce’s eight Academic All-Conference selections were tied for third-most among the 14 NE10 member institutions, as the Ravens were eclipsed only by Stonehill (12) and American International (10). Bentley and Southern Connecticut State each boasted eight honorees as well.

Felis was one of three student-athletes to earn Academic All-Conference accolades after taking home Player of the Year honors in their respective sports in the fall, showcasing the NE10’s commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
