229 Student-Athletes Earn GPAs of 3.3 or Higher During Spring Semester to be Named to Athletic Department Honor Roll

RINDGE, N.H. (May 17, 2017) – A total of 229 student-athletes in the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics have been named to the 2017 spring semester edition of the Athletic Department Honor Roll, as announced Wednesday. In addition, 26 student-athletes garnered perfect, 4.0 grade-point averages. In all, 21 of the University's 25 varsity squads eclipsed the 3.0 mark.

To earn selection to the Athletic Department Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a grade-point average of 3.30 or better during a given semester. The award's criteria are in line with various Northeast-10 Conference and national academic awards programs.

The 26 student-athletes who earned perfect 4.0 GPAs in the fall represented 19 different programs: baseball's John Amendola; men's cross country's Martin Gradijan; men's ice hockey's Alex Schleper and Shepheard Stahel; men's lacrosse's Brian Schiavi; men's soccer's Niklas Laudahn; sprint football's Nick Wood; men's tennis' Marcus Lawrence; men's indoor/outdoor track & field's Mark Choiniere, John Delahanty and Peter Murray; women's basketball's Kelsey Mayo; women's cross country's Alexa Cassara, Danielle Crawford, Holly Lindoe and Rebecca Zylak; field hockey's Morgan Caisse and Carly Canavan; women's golf's Taylor Schmidt; women's ice hockey's Katie Neuburger; women's soccer's Anna Holtschlag; women's tennis' Sarah Rich; women's indoor/outdoor track & field's Rebecca Haluch, Catherine Purves and Eileen Savinelli; and volleyball's Kelsey Hausman.

Ultimately, nine of the Department's 25 programs had 10 or more student-athletes qualify for the Athletic Department Honor Roll: men's indoor/outdoor track & field (27); women's indoor/outdoor track & field (15); women's soccer (14); men's lacrosse (13); men's ice hockey (13); field hockey (10); and men's soccer (10).
