RINDGE, N.H. (June 23, 2014) – Franklin Pierce University recently had 215 of its student-athletes named to the Spring 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for earning grade point averages of 3.0 or higher. The total number came from 18 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the NE-10.

Three Raven teams placed 20 or more student-athletes on the honor roll, including men’s and women’s track & field with 26 apiece, while the women’s soccer team had 20 of its members on the list.

Ten (10) other teams had double-digit honorees, including men’s ice hockey (18), field hockey (18), men’s lacrosse (15), softball (13), women’s cross country (12), men’s soccer (12), men’s cross country (12), women’s basketball (11), volleyball (11), and women’s lacrosse (10).

The other squads to have student-athletes make the honor roll were baseball (9), men’s golf (8), men’s basketball (8), men’s tennis (6), and women's tennis (5).

Eleven (11) student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs, including Matthew Batis (men’s ice hockey), Doria Brown (women’s track & field/cross country), Morgan Caisse (field hockey), Brooke Coderre (women’s basketball), Katie Jackson (volleyball), Carolyn Jones (women’s soccer), Brittany Martelle (women’s basketball), Melissa Morgan (softball), Natasha Ray (volleyball), Caroline Savasta (women’s soccer), and Catie Swiderski (volleyball).

Twenty-six (26) student-athletes that made the list were two-sport standouts, which made their exemplary work classroom even more impressive considering the time demands placed on them to practice and play in games throughout the year.
