Franklin Pierce Baseball Set to Hit WEEI 93.5 FM Airwaves

WEEI's Keene, N.H., affiliate to broadcast four regular season games  during the Ravens stretch run

RINDGE, N.H. (April 16, 2009) - Franklin Pierce University is pleased to announce that WEEI 93.5 FM Keene will broadcast four upcoming baseball games as the Ravens begin their stretch run towards the postseason.

WEEI 93.5 FM Keene is one of nine stations in the Entercom WEEI Sports Radio Network out of Boston, the number one sports talk radio station in the United States. The Keene station, which went on the air on October 1, provided live broadcasts of select Franklin Pierce men's and women's basketball games over the winter, including all of the Ravens NE-10 women's basketball tournament games on their way to the tournament championship in early March. The station also provides live coverage of area high school and Keene State College athletic events.


Franklin Pierce head coach Jayson King has his Ravens sitting atop the NE-10 standings heading down the stretch.

WEEI's Franklin Pierce baseball coverage kicks off with Tuesday's match up with Pace University, during "Pierce Pride Week" at the University, at 6 p.m., with first pitch coming at 6:05. WEEI will also broadcast the Ravens game against Stonehill College on Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m., as well as their final regular season home games;  a doubleheader with the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Saturday, May 3, at noon. Joining WEEI 93.5 sports director Bob Lund on the broadcasts will be Rich Campbell.

Coverage of the May 3 doubleheader with UMass Lowell will be preceded by Lund's weekly Saturday morning talk show "The Press Box" which will be broadcast live from Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field beginning at 10 a.m.; leading up to first pitch of the opening game of the doubleheader.

Postseason coverage on WEEI 93.5 FM will be announced at a later time.

The WEEI 93.5 FM Keene signal covers the entire Monadnock area of southwestern New Hampshire and Brattleboro, Vt. The area stretches close to Lebanon, N.H., to the north, almost to Manchester, N.H., to the east, beyond Fitchburg, Mass., to the southeast, Northampton, Mass., to the southwest, and near North Adams, Mass., and Bennington, Vt., to the west.

Franklin Pierce (20-13, 11-4 NE-10) is ranked 25th in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II poll. The Ravens, ranked fourth in the NCAA Division II East Regional rankings this week, are winners of two-straight and 13 of 15 to assume the top spot in the Northeast-10 Conference standings.
