GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 27, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University cross country and track & field program has had six student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors from the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced on Thursday. Senior Will Aylward (Peabody, Mass.), junior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.), graduate student Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) and sophomore Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) of the men's team, as well as seniors Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) and Stephanie Phoenix (Wallingford, Conn.) of the women's team, were all named to the Academic All-District I First Team. As a result of their selection, all six will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

To be eligible for selection, each student-athlete must own a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average or higher, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and be a starter or significant contributor athletically. The Academic All-District and All-America teams are voted on by sports information directors in the district and nation, respectively.

It is the third career Academic All-District accolade for Fenoff, while Everidge, Brena and Phoenix were both honored for the second time. Aylward and Walker each earn the award for the first time in their respective careers.

Aylward carries a 3.78 GPA as a health sciences major and posted top-30 finishes at both the Northeast-10 Conference Championship (24th) and the NCAA Championship East Regional (26th) during cross country season in the fall.

Brena is also a health sciences major, with a 3.96 GPA, who earned NE10 Academic All-Conference laurels for the indoor season. She was the East Region's top performer in the high jump for the indoor season, and should earn All-East Region honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in the event again during the outdoor season. She was the NE10 champion in the outdoor high jump.

Everidge has a 3.98 GPA as a health sciences major and previously earned both NE10 Academic All-Conference honors and the league's Elite 24 Award during the indoor season. He chalked up All-East Region accolades in the weight throw during the indoor season, after winning the NE10 title in the event.

Fenoff posted a perfect 4.0 GPA as an undergraduate biology major, and carries the same as a graduate student. He earned NE10 Academic All-Conference accolades and the Elite 24 Award during cross country season, when he posted top-20 finishes at both the NE10 Championship (20th) and the NCAA East Regional (18th), the latter of which was good for All-Region honors. Fenoff is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection.

Phoenix is yet another health sciences major, with a 3.92 GPA, and was an NE10 Academic All-Conference selection for the indoor season. She was an All-East Region performer in the pole vault for the indoor season, and should earn the same honor for the outdoor season as well.

Walker sports a 4.0 GPA as a health sciences major, was an NE10 Academic All-Conference pick for the indoor season and took home the conference's Elite 24 Award for the outdoor season. He earned All-East Region honors as a member of the Ravens' indoor 4x800-meter relay team and is expected to be an All-East selection in the outdoor 800 meters.

Academic All-America teams for cross country/track & field are slated to be announced on June 21 (women) and June 22 (men).
