Track & Field Boasts Four USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards; Honored at Team Level as Well

NEW ORLEANS (July 19, 2022) -- Four members of the Franklin Pierce University track & field program have earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced last week by the USTFCCCA. In addition, both the men’s and women’s squads were honored as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA.

MANSFIELD, Mass. (June 26, 2022) - Fourteen Franklin Pierce student-athletes across seven spring sports pushed the envelope in the classroom, earning NE10 Academic All-Conference accolades per the official announcement by the league office on Wednesday morning. The fourteen Ravens selected to Academic All-Conference were out of a pool of 130 total selectees from the NE10 Conference for the 2022 spring season.

Women’s Track & Field’s Errahili Earns All-America Honors, Takes Fourth in High Jump at NCAAs

ALLENDALE, Mich. (May 28, 2022) -- Freshman Nouhayla Errahili (Fes, Morocco) closed out the competitive season in style for the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team on Saturday afternoon in the Wolverine State, as she earned her first career All-America honors. She took fourth in the high jump at the NCAA Championships, which are being hosted by Grand Valley State and the West Michigan Sports Commission at GVSU Track & Field Stadium.

Cross Country/Track & Field Lands Six on CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 27, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University cross country and track & field program has had six student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors from the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced on Thursday. Senior Will Aylward (Peabody, Mass.), junior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.), graduate student Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) and sophomore Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) of the men’s team, as well as seniors Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) and Stephanie Phoenix (Wallingford, Conn.) of the women’s team, were all named to the Academic All-District I First Team. As a result of their selection, all six will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

Women's Track & Field's Young-Bey Takes 18th in 400m at NCAA Championships

ALLENDALE, Mich. (May 26, 2022) – Junior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team wrapped up her season on Thursday evening, with an 18th-place finish in the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Championships. The national meet is being hosted by Grand Valley State and the West Michigan Sports Commission at GVSU Track & Field Stadium.

INDIANAPOLIS (May 17, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field program will be represented by two student-athletes at the NCAA Championships, as announced Tuesday evening by the NCAA. Freshman Nouhayla Errahili (Fes, Morocco) will represent the Ravens in the high jump at the national meet, while junior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) has qualified in the 400 meters.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (May 14, 2022) -- It was a trio of All-New England performances for the Franklin Pierce University track & field program on Saturday, as the team wrapped up its trip to the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Bryant. All three came on the men’s side, as senior Cody Tallent (Bellows Fall, Vt.) took eighth in the steeplechase, sophomore Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) was eighth in the 800 meters, and the 4x800-meter relay squad took eighth as well.

(May 13, 2022) -- Senior Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) and freshman Nouhayla Errahili (Fes, Morocco) were part of a three-way tie for second in the women’s high jump to earn All-New England honors on Friday, as the Franklin Pierce University track & field program partook in the first day of competition at the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Bryant.

EASTON, Mass. (May 7, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team wrapped up its weekend at the Northeast-10 Championship, hosted by Stonehill, on Saturday. The Ravens claimed NE10 crowns in three events, as junior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) was victorious in both the 200 and 400 meters, while senior Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico) took first place in the high jump.

Through the end of the first day, the Ravens are seventh, in an 11-team field.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (April 30, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team competed in two meets this weekend, in the squad’s final pre-championships tune-ups. First, select athletes featured at the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia. On Saturday, the Ravens took fifth, of six teams, at the Blue Devil Invite, hosted by Central Connecticut State, in New Britain, Conn.

(April 23, 2022) -- With the Penn Relays on tap in the coming week, the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team was tuning up on Saturday at the Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by MIT. Freshman Nouhayla Errahili (Fes, Morocco) highlighted the day for the Ravens, as she hit the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying mark in the high jump.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 16, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team participated in a pair of meets this weekend. On Friday, a trio took to the track at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, highlighted by an eighth-place finish in the 800 meters by senior Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.). On Saturday, the full team was in action at the Penmen Relays, hosted by Southern New Hampshire, where the Ravens took third, out of 16 teams.
