Franklin Pierce has Eight Earn NE10 Academic All-Conference Selections

MANSFIELD, Mass. (February 17, 2022) -- Franklin Pierce University has had eight student-athletes earn Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the fall season, as announced earlier this month by the league office. The selected Ravens were among 90 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the NE10.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 8, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team has had three players earn All-East Region honors from United Soccer Coaches. Freshman Jasmine Perez-Acosta (Cape Coral, Fla.) headlined the trio on the First Team, while fellow freshman Aino Martikainen (Järvenpää, Finland) landed on the Second Team. Junior Viridiana Vazquez Kloss (Veracruz, Mexico) rounded things out on the Third Team.

(November 15, 2021) -- Junior Viridiana Vazquez Kloss (Veracruz, Mexico) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team has earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced late last week. She was named to the Academic All-District I First Team and will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, as a result of her selection.

(November 10, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team had three players earn All-Northeast-10 Conference accolades on Wednesday afternoon, as the league announced its annual end-of-season awards. The Ravens’ honorees were highlighted by a pair of All-NE10 First Team selections, in freshmen Jasmine Perez-Acosta (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Aino Martikainen (Järvenpää, Finland), both of who were named to the All-Rookie Team as well. In addition, junior Viridiana Vazquez Kloss (Veracruz, Mexico) was selected to the All-NE10 Third Team.

WORCESTER, Mass. (November 7, 2021) – There was nothing in it through 110 minutes on Sunday afternoon, as the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team locked horns on the road with fourth-seeded Assumption in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship. After the game was played to a scoreless draw through two overtime periods, Assumption advanced to the semifinal round on penalty kicks, 3-2.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 3, 2021) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team led through 84 minutes on Wednesday night at Sodexo Field. The Ravens would not lead through 85 minutes. By the time 86 minutes were completed, they were trailing. In a span of just 104 seconds, visiting Assumption got goals from freshmen Ashley Wenzel and Haleigh Ward to snatch a 2-1 victory and abruptly deal Franklin Pierce a loss in the regular-season finale for both squads. All three goals came from freshmen on the night, as Delaney Farinha (Preston, Conn.) had the lone tally for the Ravens.

First-Half Tally Lifts Women’s Soccer to Senior Night Win over Le Moyne, 1-0

RINDGE, N.H. (October 29, 2021) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Night on Friday night, as the Ravens acknowledged the achievements of the program’s 10 seniors prior to the game. The celebration did not stop with the pregame ceremony though, as a first-half goal from senior Ciersten Palumbo (Holbrook, N.Y.) gave the Ravens a 1-0 win over Northeast-10 Conference opponent Le Moyne College at Sodexo Field.

Women’s Soccer Trades Early Goals at Saint Michael’s in 1-1 (2 OT) Tie

COLCHESTER, Vt. (October 26, 2021) – A pair of goals in the first 14 minutes were all that were in it on a wet Tuesday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team paid a visit to Saint Michael’s for a Northeast-10 Conference affair. Freshman Delaney Farinha (Preston, Conn.) found the back of the net for the Ravens, while freshman Christina Cummings answered for the Purple Knights, as the two sides played to a 1-1 (2 OT) draw at Doc Jacobs Field.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 16, 2021) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team surrendered the first goal on Saturday night at Sodexo Field, but that would be it. The Ravens had the lead before halftime and wound up pouring in four unanswered tallies, on the way to a 4-1 win over visiting Adelphi in Northeast-10 Conference play. Four different players found the net, while freshman Jasmine Perez-Acosta (Cape Coral, Fla.) dished out a pair of assists.

MANSFIELD, Mass. (October 13, 2021) -- Freshman Eleonora Franco (Verona, Italy) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on Oct. 10, as announced earlier this week by the league office. In addition, freshman Gabby Calidonio (Flagler Beach, Fla.) and junior Viridiana Vazquez Kloss (Veracruz, Mexico) were named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 13, 2021) – A 71st-minute penalty kick would provide the only scoring on Wednesday night at Jess Dow Field, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team paid a visit to Southern Connecticut State for a Northeast-10 Conference contest. Senior Kelsey Burr put the spot kick away for the host Owls, who pulled out a 1-0 victory.

(October 9, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team returned home with a win on Saturday afternoon, as the Ravens picked up a 4-1 victory over the visiting New Haven Chargers. Freshman Eleonora Franco (Verona, Italy) led the way, as she put together her first collegiate hat trick in the Northeast-10 Conference contest at Sodexo Field. Junior Madison Blonde had the lone goal in defeat for New Haven.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 5, 2021) – After a lackluster first half, the Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team hit its stride in the second half on the road on Tuesday afternoon. The Ravens poured in a trio of goals in less than 12 minutes to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm. Sophomore Hailey Goodman (Blackstone, Mass.) notched a goal and an assist to lead the way in the Northeast-10 Conference contest at Melucci Field.
