Women’s Lacrosse Lands 13 on IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (July 28, 2022) -- Thirteen members of the Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Division II Academic Honor Roll for the 2022 season, as announced Wednesday afternoon by the IWLCA. In addition, the Ravens earned Academic Honor Squad accolades at the team level.

In order to be selected to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be either a junior, senior or graduate student, and must possess a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Across Division II, 517 student-athletes earned the accolade, representing 68 institutions.

Of the 13 Ravens honored, three were graduate students: Jenna Cimbron (Bristol, R.I.), Caroline Lounsbury (Franklin, Mass.) and Madisyn Van Horn (Pulaski, N.Y.). A further six were members of the senior class: Megyn Ayotte (Guilford, Vt.), Morgan Baxendale (Orchard Park, N.Y.), Kaitlyn Daly (LaGrangeville, N.Y.), Jacklyn Keane (Framingham, Mass.), Madison Leslie (Lewiston, Maine), and Riley Lynch (Medford, Mass.). The remaining four were juniors: Erin Blake (Southborough, Mass.), Amelia D'Urso (Katonah, N.Y.), Gabrielle Oswald (Nedrow, N.Y.) and Sammi Gallant (Ipswich, Mass.).

Ayotte, Cimbron, Daly, Keane, Lynch, Lounsbury and Van Horn all earned the accolade for the second straight season. The remaining six Ravens were all first-time honorees.

In order to be selected as an Academic Honor Squad, a team must maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic year. Across the three NCAA division and the NAIA, a total of 398 teams earned the award.
