Women’s Golf Finishes 14th at UIndy Invitational

CARMEL, Ind. (September 13, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team slipped one spot on Tuesday, at the second and final day of the UIndy Invitational, to finish 14th, in a 17-team field. The Ravens turned in a final-round 326 (+38), to total 961 shots (+97) for the tournament. Sophomore Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand) finished as the leading Raven, with a final-round 79 (+7) to finish tied-21st, at 74-74-79--227 (+11) at the par-72, 6204-yard Prairie View Golf Club.

Prukmathakul was the only member of the Franklin Pierce five in the top 50 of the 92-golfer tournament. Fellow sophomore Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand) turned in a Tuesday 78 (+6) to finish tied-58th, at 81-78-78--237 (+21). Freshman Lorelai Flanagan (Arlington, Mass.) used an 81 (+9) to move up five spots to solo-83rd at 90-82-81--253 (+37), one shot in front of senior Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) in solo-84th at 84-82-88--254 (+38). Senior Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) rounded out Franklin Pierce's participation in solo-89th at 80-86-95--261 (+45).

It all added up to a Tuesday 326 (+38) for the Ravens, who slipped one shot to a 14th-place finish at 319-316-326--961 (+97). Up front, Dallas Baptist ran away with a 22-shot victory at 289-286-285--860 (-4). Host Indianapolis was second at 298-284-300--882 (+18), while Findlay took third at 285-298-300--883 (+19).

Individually, Lee senior Supuschaya Srichantamit carded a final-round 67 (-5) to finish at 70-70-67--207 (-9) and force a tie for medalist honors with Dallas Baptist sophomore Jordan Karrh, at 69-67-71--207 (-9). The pair were two of four to finish under par for 54 holes, as they were three-shot victors over Dallas Baptist graduate student Faith DeLaGarza and Grand Valley State sophomore Olivia Stoll, at 210 (-6).

The Ravens are back in action on Sept. 18-19, as they travel to Erie, Pa., for the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
