Women's Basketball Move On with Victory against Adelphi

Garden City, N.Y. (February 26, 2022) --- After losing by one point to this same Adelphi Panthers Basketball team back on January 22, the Ravens got their revenge on the Panthers and held on to a 61-58 win in the Northeast-10 Conference First Round of the playoffs. In the first quarter, the Panthers came out flat, and senior guard Ty Hawkins led the team with three points.

In the fourth quarter, it would come to what team would go on a run and take over the game. Franklin Pierce and Adelphi kept it close throughout the quarter. Both teams scored 11 points in the final quarter of play. Senior forward Emma Carter (Bristol, Vermont) led her team with four points in the fourth. The Panthers had multiple chances to tie the game in the final 30 seconds of regulation. Carter made two clutch free throws with 15 seconds left to give the Ravens the lead 61-58. The Panthers missed two three-pointer attempts, and Franklin Pierce survived.
