Sprint Football Conducts NFL Play 60 Event at The Cutler School

RINDGE, N.H. (March 29, 2016) -- Earlier this month, the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team participated in the National Football League’s Play 60 initiative. The team sent 17 players to The Cutler School for an hour-and-a-half of play with the elementary school’s students.
Sprint Football Puts Nine on All-CSFL Teams, Has 11 Total Honored by League

(December 1, 2015) – Senior defensive lineman Josh Tilton (Seymour, Conn.) led four All-Collegiate Sprint Football League First Team selections and nine All-League selections overall for the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team, as announced Tuesday by the League office. In all, the Ravens had 11 players honored in the League’s year-end awards.
Sprint Football Grinds Out 14-3 Win Over Mansfield to Cap Season

RINDGE, N.H. (October 31, 2015) – Two first-quarter touchdowns would hold up the rest of the way on Saturday afternoon for the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team, as the Ravens struck twice early en route to a 14-3 win over Mansfield in Collegiate Sprint Football League play at Sodexo Field. Senior quarterback Derek Reddy (Natick, Mass.), playing in his final collegiate game, opened the scoring with a quarterback sneak in the season finale.
MacDonald, Sprint Football Run Past Chestnut Hill, 45-7

LAFAYETTE, Pa. (October 23, 2015) – Four players rushed for 50 yards or more on Friday night, as the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team piled up 291 yards on the ground on the way to a 45-7 win over Chestnut Hill in non-conference play at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Football Stadium. Senior running back D.J. MacDonald (Mattapoisett, Mass.) led the way with 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Sprint Football Stifled by Army, 24-0

RINDGE, N.H. (October 17, 2015) – The offense of the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team was far from the first victim of the defensive unit pieced together by Army in 2015. The Black Knights had not allowed a point in their four games prior to Saturday, a streak which remained intact after they posted another shutout and dealt a 24-0 loss to Franklin Pierce in Collegiate Sprint Football league play at Sodexo Field. The Franklin Pierce defense flexed some of its own muscle as well, as Army had averaged 48.8 points per game coming into the contest.

(October 14, 2015) – Junior defensive back Brandon Knight (Bronx, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team has been named Collegiate Sprint Football League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the League office. In addition, sophomore defensive back William Hart (Amherst, N.H.) has been named CSFL Special Teams Player of the Week.
Seven Interceptions Help Build Lead; Sprint Football Holds on for 18-16 Win at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (October 9, 2015) – The secondary of the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team was marked as a “no passing” zone early and often on Friday night, though the defensive display did not seem to deter Navy from trying to gain yards through the air. Navy quarterbacks did combine to throw for 256 yards and two touchdowns in the Collegiate Sprint Football League contest, but seven interceptions prevented those yards from leading to more points at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Instead, a 24-yard touchdown catch by senior tight end Michael Holdridge (Peru, N.Y.) and a 46-yard field by sophomore kicker Kyle Salucco (Exeter, N.H.) in the second half led Franklin Pierce to an 18-16 victory.

(October 7, 2015) – Sophomore kicker Kyle Salucco (Exeter, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team has been named Collegiate Sprint Football League Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the League office. It is the second straight week Salucco has captured the award.
MacDonald Runs Wild as Sprint Football Blanks Post, 38-0, on Homecoming

RINDGE, N.H. (October 3, 2015) – Senior running back D.J. MacDonald (Mattapoisett, Mass.) rushed for 172 yards and two scores on Saturday afternoon to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team on Homecoming at Sodexo Field. The performance helped pave the way for a 38-0 whitewashing of Post in Collegiate Sprint Football League play.

Second Half Hurts Sprint Football in 36-15 Loss to Cornell

RINDGE, N.H. (September 26, 2015) – Sophomore kicker Kyle Salucco (Exeter, N.H.) put through three first-half field goals on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team built a 15-7 halftime lead at Sodexo Field, but it was Cornell junior quarterback Rob Pannullo who stole the show. The latter ran for 155 yards and a touchdown, while throwing for 54 yards and another score to lead the Big Red to a 36-15 win in Collegiate Sprint Football League play.

PHILADELPHIA (September 19, 2015) – Three first-half turnovers and a trio of long touchdown plays dug a hole the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team could not climb out of in its season opener on Saturday afternoon. The Ravens surrendered 21 first-quarter points at historic Franklin Field, en route to a 51-7 loss to Penn in Collegiate Sprint Football League play.
