Softball's Gina Hinckley Named To The CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District Team (District 1)

RINDGE, N.H (5/17/22) – Franklin Pierce University graduate student Gina Hinckley (Lancaster, Mass.) was named to the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District (District 1) Softball Team on Thursday, May 12th. With her selection for the 2021-22 year, Hinckley becomes eligible for the Academic All American Team ballot, in which the selectees will be announced this June.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on both the playing field as well as within the classroom. To qualify for the academic all-district honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.30 GPA or higher and must have attained sophomore athletic and academic standing from their respective institutions. Any nominees must also be considered a starter or hold legitimate athletic credentials.

Representing District 1 are schools from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference (ECC), and the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10). Hinckley is one of five total infielders to be selected.

As a starter in 41 games this season for the Ravens, Hinckley set two program single season records as the team leader in both home runs (11) and RBI (43). Her RBI totals from this season were also good for the NE10 conference lead amongst individual players. Hinckley additionally led the team in slug percentage (.733) and on-base percentage (.467).

Hinckley also made her way into the all-time record books in both categories, becoming the program leader with 27 career home runs and 94 career RBI in 145 games played.

Hinckley also garnered Second Team honors in both the NE10 (All-Conference) and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (All-East Region) for her efforts this past season, and is receiving the CoSIDA Academic honors for the first time in her collegiate career.
