Men's Indoor Track & Field Places Fourth at Elm City Challenge

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (12/3/22) – The indoor track & field season officially kicked of for the Franklin Pierce men's team, as they opened the season at the Elm City Challenge hosted by Southern Connecticut State, placing 4th overall out of eight total teams.

Notable performances included a 1st place finish (6.47) in the 55-meter dash by junior Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.), claiming the win following victories in the preliminary heats. In the men's 200-meter dash, junior Nathan Rinaldi (Bristol, Conn.) also claimed a 1st overall finish, scoring 10 points with a 23.28 finishing time.

From the field, Harris returned with a 2nd place finish in the high jump, hitting a mark of 1.85 meters (6' 0.75"), finishing just behind Southern Connecticut's Nathaniel Llanos. Junior Connor Nordmann (Bethel, Conn.) also found himself in the mix as he tied for 3rd in the pole fault, matching Southern Connecticut's Zach Burleigh 3.95 meter (12' 11.5") height. Franklin Pierce additionally cleaned up over at shotput, as senior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) and junior Salvatore Lando (Sterling, Mass.) placed 2nd (14.81m) and 3rd (14.34m) in finals respectively, with Everidge also claiming the 3rd in weight throw (15.85m).

Next weekend, the Ravens will head to the University of Southern Maine for the first trip of two in a row, beginning with the USM Season Opener meet on Saturday, December 10th.
