MANSFIELD, MASS. (3/1/23) – Per the official announcement by the league offices earlier this week, the Franklin Pierce men’s ice hockey team had four total members selected to the Northeast-10 All-Conference teams, with one of the bunch additionally receiving major honors from this past season. For the major award, senior forward Conor Foley (Nahant, Mass.) was chosen as the Northeast-10 Conference’s Player of the Year, and also joins senior defender Stephen Jacobs (Hingham, Mass.) on the All-Conference First Team. To round out the list of honorees, freshman defender Declan House (Roselle Park, N.J.) and forward Matt Horan (Methuen, Mass.) were each selected to the All-Rookie Team for their standout efforts in their first collegiate seasons. This past season, Foley finished as the Northeast-10 conference’s leader in overall points scored, totaling 34 on 16 goals and 18 assists through 27 games played, along with a +5 rating. Of his goals total, where he also ranked 2nd in the conference, seven were scored on the power play. Foley becomes the second player in program history to win Player of the Year honors, and receives First Team All-Conference for the second-consecutive season. Jacobs was a mainstay on the Ravens blueline this season, and led the team in defensive points scored with 27, totaling six goals and 15 assists with a -11 rating through 29 games played. Through four seasons with Pierce, Jacobs has previously earned Player of the Week accolades, and is receiving his first round of postseason recognition. In his first collegiate season, Declan House quickly made an impact as one of the top freshman defenders in the conference. With already 30 games under his belt, House totaled 14 points on one goal and 13 assists, finishing with a -11 rating on the ice, which was good for the conference lead in freshman defensive points scored. From up front, Matt Horan also put up solid numbers in his first collegiate season, scoring seven goals with 11 assists for 18 points, along with a -1 rating. For both players, it is their first overall recognition from the Northeast-10 conference, both from a weekly and full season standpoint.
