Northeast-10 Conference Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Report

MANSFIELD, Mass. (February 21, 2022) -- Graduate student goaltender Ian Wallace (West Islip, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Goaltender of the Week, for the week ending on Feb. 20, as announced on Monday by the league office.

Wallace was busy, to say the least, last week, as he played every minute in net for the Ravens, who went 2-0-1 in three games against Assumption. He started the week with a bang on Tuesday afternoon, as he piled up 52 saves against 55 shots to carry Franklin Pierce to a 3-3 tie on home ice. Things did not get much easier on Friday night, as Wallace collected 47 saves against 48 shots in a 3-1 home win. He capped the week with a 38-save shutout in a 2-0 win on the road on Saturday night. It is Wallace's third NE10 Goaltender of the Week award of the season.

On the season, Wallace has started 14 games in the Franklin Pierce crease and made 461 saves against 501 shots on goal, to post a .920 save percentage, a 3.02 goals-against average and a 5-7-2 record. He is just 11 saves from tying the program’s all-time record of 1940 career stops.

The Ravens (8-15-2, 5-9-2 NE10) will open the postseason on the road against Assumption on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Worcester Ice Center. Game time is expected to be 7:30 p.m.
