Men's Basketball Enters NCAA Division II Tournament as #2 Seed in East

RINDGE, N.H. (March 7, 2022) – After the official announcement made by the NCAA yesterday evening, the Franklin Pierce University men's basketball program has turned their attention to the upcoming NCAA Division II Tournament, where they will enter as the #2 seed of the East Region. For the Quarterfinal round, the Ravens will clash with the #7 seeded St. Thomas Aquinas College, with all regional games taking place at host Bentley University's Dana Athletic Center on Saturday, 3/12/22.

Official start times for the Quarterfinal round games are yet to be determined.

For Franklin Pierce (18-10), it will be their seventh trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament, and their first in seven years. Across that span, the Ravens have accumulated an 8-7 all-time record, while posting a respectable 6-1 record in the first round of action.

The Ravens will be joined by four additional NE10 teams in the regional tournament, along with Bentley University (22-4), Saint Anselm College (17-10), University of New Haven (17-8) & Pace University (19-9).

St. Thomas Aquinas, the Ravens opponent in the upcoming, was recently was crowned the East Coast Conference Champion this past week, and is one of three automatic qualifying teams in the east region. This Saturday will also mark the first time these two teams have met in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The winner of Franklin Pierce versus St. Thomas Aquinas will face the victor of #3 Saint Anselm and #6 New Haven, which is also scheduled to be played this Saturday, 3/7/22.
