RINDGE, N.H. (5/31/23) – One individual on the Franklin Pierce University baseball team continued to stack up regional post-season accolades, with senior shortstop Ian Battipaglia (Cheshire, Conn.) earning an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selection on Wednesday.

Battipaglia earns his first ever First Team recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association, and is a three time ABCA All-Region honoree after previously earning Second Team laurels as a freshman and sophomore. This season, Battipaglia now owns ABCA First Team All-East Region First Team honors, along with Second Team East Regional recognition from the NCBWA and D2CCA.

From a conference standpoint, Battipaglia garnered both Second Team and All-Defensive Team selections from the NE10 in 2023. At the plate, the Raven senior was a frequent flyer with 75 total hits, which included four homers, 20 doubles, five triples and 38 runs batted in, which added to a .488 on-base percentage and a .594 slugging percentage through 54 games and 197 at-bats. Additionally, Battipaglia cracked the top-10 in the individual Northeast-10 Conference leaderboards in batting average (.381), and was ranked 5^th amongst conference players in stolen bases (24).
