RINDGE, N.H. (May 24, 2017) – Senior right-hander Cody McPartland (Sound Beach, N.Y.) and junior catcher Stephen Octave (New Windsor, N.Y.) have been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Second Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.

It is the first career All-East Region selection for each player. Octave garnered All-East Region Honorable Mention accolades from the NCBWA earlier this spring, while McPartland was an NCBWA Honorable Mention a year ago at Dowling.

In his lone season as a Raven after transferring in from Dowling, McPartland capped a strong collegiate career this spring, with a campaign which also earned him All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team honors. Over 12 appearances, including 10 starts, three complete games and one shutout, he logged 76.1 innings, which was second on the team. Through NCAA regional play, McPartland ranked 26th in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.67). Among NE10 pitchers, he finished the year ranked third in strikeouts (85), fourth in strikeouts per nine innings (10.02), tied for fourth in wins (7), tied for sixth in complete games, 10th in innings pitched and 11th in ERA (2.71). McPartland surrendered 29 runs (23 earned) on 69 hits and issued just 15 walks on the way to a 7-1 record and one save.

Octave hit in the cleanup spot for much of the season and slashed .340/.374/.492 over 191 at-bats (65-for-191) for the Ravens, while playing in 47 games, including 45 starts. In the NE10, he ranked tied for first in runs batted in (48), tied for second in hits, sixth in total bases (94), seventh in batting average, tied for ninth in extra-base hits (18), tied for ninth in home runs (5) and 12th in slugging percentage. Octave tallied 12 doubles, one triple and five home runs. He scored 31 runs, earned 10 walks and one hit-by-pitch against 24 strikeouts, and stole two bases in four attempts.

The Ravens (33-15) wrapped up their season as the runner-up at the NE10 Championship. It marked the team's league-record 10th appearance in the final round of the conference tournament. Franklin Pierce posted its 16th straight season of at least 30 wins, and qualified for the NE10 Championship for a league-record 17th straight year.
