10 Ravens Named To NE10 Academic All-Conference Team

MANSFIELD, Mass. (April 14, 2022) – The Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference selectees were revealed on Thursday afternoon by the league office, with 10 Franklin Pierce University student-athletes garnering the honors for the 2021-22 winter season. The ten selected Ravens were among a total of 82 student-athletes across seven sports to be honored by the conference.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must fulfill each of the following criteria: (1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions as a starter or significant contributor, (2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and (3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The teams are chosen by the vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives.

Leading the pack of selected individuals were five members of the men's indoor track and field team, which featured junior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.), as well as sophomores Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.), Connor Nordmann (Bethel, Conn.), Thomas Darrah (Thetford, Vt) and Sal Lando (Sterling, Mass.). Joining them on the women's side, a trio of seniors were also named recipients: Stephanie Phoenix (Wallingford, Conn.), Alena Masterson (Pelham, N.H.), and Paola Brena (Queretaro, Mexico)

Franklin Pierce also had two solo selections from women's basketball and men's ice hockey to round out the total ten chosen student-athletes. Senior forward Emma Carter (Bristol, Vt) was the lone recipient for women's basketball, along with graduate goaltender Ian Wallace (West Islip, N.Y.) from men's ice hockey.

For Indoor track and field, both Phoenix and Masterson are third-time recipients of the academic accolades, whereas Brena and Everidge are receiving the honors for the second time in their collegiate careers. Along with the listed sophomore members of track and field, both senior Emma Carter and Ian Wallace are first-time honorees.

Franklin Pierce's ten Academic All-Conference selections were good for the second-most among all 14 NE10 member institutions, with the Ravens finishing just behind Bentley University (12) and ahead of Southern Connecticut State (9).
