HOPKINTON, N.H. (November 4, 2018) – Sophomore Daijanique White (Hartford, Conn.) was one of two members of the Franklin Pierce University women's cross country team to finish in the top-50 on Sunday morning, as the Ravens hosted the Northeast-10 Conference Cross Country Championship at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds. White and junior Julia Cormier (Northwood, N.H.) led Franklin Pierce to an 11^th-place finish in the 15-team meet.

White turned in a 6k time of 23:52.7 to finish 45^th in the 144-runner field. Cormier was just two spots behind her, in 47^th, with a time of 23:54.6. Junior Rebecca Zylak (Goffstown, N.H.) slipped into the top half of the field as well, with a run of 24:42.9 to finish 66^th.

"Daija White ran incredible today," said head coach Zach Emerson after the race. "However, overall, the women left a lot out on the course, and will be looking for some redemption in two weeks at the NCAA regional."

The remainder of Franklin Pierce's scoring runners placed outside the top half of the field, but inside the top 90 on Sunday. Freshman Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.) stopped the clock at 24:59.0 to finish 73^rd in her NE10 Championship debut, while sophomore Lauren Stankiewicz (Naugatuck, Conn.) ran a 25:58.9 to place 88^th.

At the top of the field, Stonehill had the top three finishers and put all of its scoring five in the top nine to obliterate the field on the way to its 10^th straight NE10 title. The Skyhawks (20 points) posted a 69-point victory over second-place Merrimack (89 points), while Assumption (145 points), Saint Rose (164 points) and Adelphi (168 points) rounded out the top five.

Stonehill junior Anna Lastra claimed the Skyhawks' fourth straight NE10 individual title, with a time of 21:57.4. Her teammates followed in second and third, as sophomore Samantha Curtin ran a 22:03.2 and senior Makenzie Cyr turned in a 22:08.6. Southern New Hampshire junior Jill Couto finished fourth (22:09.8), while Stonehill senior Isabel Baker closed out the top five (22:12.0).

The Ravens have next weekend open, before returning to action on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the NCAA Championship East Regional, to be hosted by Adelphi in Garden City, New York.
