The Franklin Pierce University volleyball 2017 season came to an end Saturday afternoon as the Ravens came from behind down 1-0 to defeat Northeast-10 Conference opponent the College of Saint Rose 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-18, 31-29) on Senior Day in the Fieldhouse. With the win, the Crimson and Grey conclude their year at 8-17 overall and 6-8 NE10 and the loss sends the Golden Knights to 12-17, 3-11 NE10.

Clinging by a thread in the Northeast-10 Conference volleyball standings, the Franklin Pierce University Ravens needed to take care of business Friday night to remain in the hunt for a postseason berth. Le Moyne College had other plans as they knocked the Ravens out of postseason contention with a 3-0 (15-25, 14-25, 21-25) sweep of the Crimson and Grey in the Fieldhouse.

Gabriela Vazquez tallied a match-high 15 kills and a .419 hitting percentage as the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team upended the Franklin Pierce University squad 3-0 (18-25, 16-25, 16-25) Saturday afternoon at the Pelz Gym. With the victory, the Owls glide to 20-8 overall and 7-5 NE10 while the Ravens drop to 7-16, 5-7 NE10 in the setback.

(October 27, 2017) – Trailing 2-1 and clinging to a 17-15 lead in the fourth set, a switch suddenly flipped for the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team on Friday night in the Fieldhouse . The Ravens ran off eight of the final nine points of the set and then never trailed in the decisive fifth set, as they rallied past Assumption for a 3-2 win in Northeast-10 Conference play. Senior middle Hannah St. Jean (Olympia, Wash.) thumped away 17 kills, hit .429 and added six blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Danielle Varricchio (Boynton Beach, Fla.) went for a 15-kill, 28-dig double-double to lead the way for Franklin Pierce.

With the win, the Crimson and Grey snap a three-game losing skid earning their fifth win overall while improving to 3-4 in league play. The loss was the 11th of the season for the Purple Knights.
