Prinzbach Awarded AVCA Scholarship

RINDGE, N.H. (November 7, 2016) – Franklin Pierce University volleyball assistant coach Marissa Prinzbach has been selected as a 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship recipient it was announced Monday morning.

The scholarship provides the opportunity for up-and-coming volleyball coaches to attend their first AVCA Convention with the scholarship money used to pay for convention registration and hotel costs.

In order to be eligible for the C4C Scholarship, applicants must be active AVCA members who are attending their first AVCA Convention. A selection committee reviews the applications and makes their decisions based on academics, contributions to the sport of volleyball on and off the court, a professional letter of recommendation, and a personal written submission outlining their desire to attend the AVCA Annual Convention and their aspirations in coaching.

Currently the assistant coach at FPU, Prinzbach has gained practical experience coaching for All-American Volleyball camps and middle school camps and clinics as well as playing Division I volleyball at UConn from 2012-2014 and University at Buffalo (2014-2016). Her love for volleyball has inspired her to help fuel others' passion for the game and help them become the best athlete they can be. Prinzbach is also pursuing her Masters of Business Administration in Sports Management at Franklin Pierce.

With three games remaining, the Ravens are 10-13 and 6-5 in Northeast-10 Conference play while currently ranking eighth in the league standings.

FPU returns to action tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. against conference opponent American International.
