Volleyball Sweeps Saint Anselm
Buchholz leads offense with 11 kills
Nicole Buchholz contributed a match-high 11 kills on Tuesday night
against Saint Anselm.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 14, 2008) –
Senior Nicole Buchholz
(Broadlands, Va./Stone Bridge) recorded a match-best 11
kills on Tuesday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University
volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Saint Anselm in Northeast-10
Conference play at Franklin Pierce’s Fieldhouse.
Franklin Pierce ran away with the first set, 25-8, and then
finished the match with 25-13 and 25-15 victories in the second and
third sets, respectively.
Buchholz was the only Raven to find double digits offensively with
her 11 kills. Buchholz and the rest of the Franklin Pierce offense
worked off the set of senior Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Adolfo
Camarillo), who dished out a match-high 37 assists. No
Ravens reached double figures defensively, but junior Katie Ristow (Miami, Fla./Miami
Killian) and senior Emily
Schultz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) led the way with nine
digs each.
For Saint Anselm, freshman Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring,
N.Y./Haldane) keyed the offense with 11 assists as freshmen
Stephanie Mauer (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) and Kelsey
Rhodes (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin) each notched four kills.
Sophomore Kelly Rudolph (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park) led the
Hawks defensively with 10 digs.
The Ravens (11-14, 4-4 NE-10) return to the court on Saturday, Oct.
18, when they travel to face Saint Rose in a Northeast-10
Conference contest. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Nolan
Gymnasium in Albany, N.Y. Saint Anselm (2-12, 0-8 NE-10) returns to
action on Oct. 18 at home against Stonehill.
