Bentley Blows Past Franklin Pierce, 3-0
RINDGE, N.H. (Sept. 24, 2002) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team fell to top ranked
Bentley College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 volleyball action at the
Franklin Pierce Fieldhouse this evening.
Senior captains Lauren Washington and Danielle LeBaron led the way
for the Falcons, as the team knotted their third-straight League
victory this season. Washington tallied eight kills, while LeBaron
recorded eight kills and three blocks.
Junior setter Alyssa Carter dished 24 assists and 13 digs, while
sophomore Erin Cavanaugh totaled three blocks.
Franklin Pierce senior Mandy
Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher Regional) posted ten kills and
eight digs, while classmate Catrina Cuevas (Aurora, Colo./J.I. O'Neill
(N.Y.)) totaled eight kills and nine digs.
Franklin Pierce (5-5, 2-3 NE-10) returns to the court on Friday
when it travels to Pace University for a Conference match at 7 p.m.
Bentley (12-3, 3-0 NE-10) next hosts Stonehill College on Friday in
a League match at 5 p.m.
