Women’s Track & Field Finishes Ninth at NE10 Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 5, 2018) – Junior Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) and graduate student Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) each picked up points for the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team on Saturday, on the second and final day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, hosted by Southern Connecticut State at Jess Dow Field.

In all, the Ravens collected 21 points at the meet, to finish ninth, out of 12 teams. At the top of the field, Stonehill captured the NE10 title with 248 points, while host SCSU followed with 148.5 points and Assumption finished with 139.5 points, to round out the top three.

Galewski chalked up seven of Franklin Pierce's 10 points on the second day of the meet. She tallied six points with a third-place finish in the heptathlon, as she amassed 4400 points in the event, which is spread over two days and seven disciplines. Galewski also picked up a point with an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles final, with a time of 15.68 seconds.

The remaining three points for the Ravens on Saturday came courtesy of Baah. She finished sixth in the triple jump, with a hop, skip and jump of 11.35 meters.

The Ravens are back in action on May 11-12, when select student-athletes compete at the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H.
