Baah, Galewski Lead Women’s Track & Field at Middlebury Winter Classic

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (January 13, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team was back in full-squad action on Saturday at the Middlebury Winter Classic. Junior Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) met an NEICAAA Championship qualifying mark, while graduate student Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) posted a pair of top-two finishes to lead the way for the Ravens.

Baah was already qualified for the NEICAAAs, but met the qualifying mark once again in the triple jump, as she posted a distance of 11.19 meters to finish in first place. She also added a third-place finish in the long jump, with a mark of 4.76 meters.

Meanwhile, it was Galewski who was victorious in the long jump, with a leap of 4.82 meters. She added a second top-two finish as well, as she placed second in the 60-meter dash, with a time of 8.17 seconds.

Franklin Pierce had four other top-three finishes on Saturday at Middlebury. On the track, freshman Alyssa Harris (Billerica, Mass.) finished third in the 200 meters (27.35), while freshman Marissa Farago (Salisbury, Mass.) placed third in the 1000 meters (3:19.29). In field events, it was second-place finishes for sophomore Katey Comstock (Windsor, Vt.) in the shot put (11.91m) and sophomore Olivia Mabbett (Milford, N.H.) in the high jump (1.58m).

The Ravens return to action on Saturday, Jan. 20, when they travel to the Panther Invitational, hosted by Plymouth State, in Plymouth, N.H.
