RINDGE, N.H. (August 2, 2017) – Freshman Catherine Purves (Dalkeith, Scotland) and senior Nicole Galewski (Whitman, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team, along with senior Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) of the men's team, have all earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as announced late last week by the USTFCCCA. In addition, both the men's and women's squads were honored as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA.

The USTFCCCA bestows All-Academic honors on those who compile a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or better and meet either the automatic or provisional NCAA Championships qualifying standards in an event during either the indoor or outdoor campaigns. To be honored as a team, a squad must carry at least a 3.0 GPA.

Through the end of her freshman campaign, Purves carries a perfect 4.0 GPA as a psychology major. During the outdoor season, she garnered Track Rookie of the Year honors from the Northeast-10 Conference, after becoming the first freshman in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Purves finished 22nd at NCAAs in the 400-meter hurdles, while her fastest time of the season in the event (59.96 seconds) was the East Region's fastest time.

Meanwhile, Galewski graduated in the spring with a 3.24 GPA as a psychology major. She earned her fifth-career All-East Region honor from the USTFCCCA earlier this year, for her work in the heptathlon this spring. Her season-best of 4449 points came at the NEICAAA Championships and ranked second in the East Region on the year. Galewski was also a two-time All-Region selection during the indoor season, when she picked up accolades in both the pentathlon (3227 points) and the long jump (5.54m).

For his part, Minors wrapped up the undergraduate portion of his career with a 3.31 GPA as a sports and recreation management major. He is a five-time All-American, as he earned the accolade in both the indoor and outdoor 800 meters last year. Minors was the USTFCAAA's selection as Male Track Athlete of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor season on the strength of his performances. His best indoor time in the 800 meters (1:48.70) was the fifth-fastest time in Division II history.

Both Ravens squads were honored at the team level as well, with the women carrying a 3.23 GPA and the men sporting a 3.18 GPA.
