RINDGE, N.H. (April 11, 2017) – Freshman Catherine Purves (Dalkeith, Scotland) of the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Track Rookie of the Week for the week ending on April 9, while freshman Domenic Branco (Pelham, N.H.) of the men's team has been named Field Rookie of the Week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office.

With the Ravens at the Panther Spring Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College, on Sunday, Purves recorded a pair of victories to lead the Ravens to a second-place finish. She turned in a time of 14.73 seconds to win the 100-meter hurdles, as well as a mark of 1:04.19 to win the 400-meter hurdles. Both times established new program records.

Meanwhile, Branco picked up a win in the shot put to help lead the Ravens to the men's program's first-ever meet title. He also tallied a new program record, with a heave of 13.64 meters

The Ravens return to action on April 14-15, when they travel to the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College in New London, Conn.
