Women’s Track & Field Competes at Dartmouth Relays

HANOVER, N.H. (January 8, 2017) – After nearly a month off, the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team returned to action on Sunday, with select members traveling to the Dartmouth Relays. The Ravens placed 10th out of 10 scoring teams with two points on the day, courtesy of junior Emily Quinn (West Bridgewater, Mass.) in the weight throw.

Franklin Pierce's points on the day came via Quinn's seventh-place finish in the weight throw. Her heave of 15.09 meters collected two points. Quinn already ranks third in the Northeast-10 Conference in the event.

The Ravens also put together a pair of noteworthy performances in the shot put on Sunday. Freshman Jen Iozzi (Cranston, R.I.) finished eighth with a heave of 11.45 meters, while fellow freshman Katey Comstock (Windsor, Vt.) took ninth with a throw of 11.44 meters. Iozzi's mark was good enough to move into a tie for 10th in the NE10, while Comstock moved into 12th in the league.

On the team front, host Dartmouth took home the team title with 202 points, blowing out second-place UMass, which finished with 93 points.

The Ravens return to action on Friday, Jan. 13, when they travel to the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invitational in Staten Island, N.Y.
