Women’s Track and Field sport assortment of athletes on final day of Shamrock Invitational

CONWAY, S.C. (March 21, 2015) – Sophomores Kendra Plant (Cumberland, R.I.) and Nicole Galewski (Pembroke, Mass.) each put together solid results on Saturday in the final day of the 2015 Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational at Dale Shaw Stadium on the campus of Costal Carolina.

Both Plant and Galewski also competed on Friday as well, putting in solid efforts in the field events. Plant finished 22nd out of 45 competitors in the hammer throw with a toss of 37.64 meters, while Galewski finished 17 of 29 in the long jump with a distance of 5.13 meters.

Moving onto Saturday, Galewski brought her game to the next level as she set a personal best in the 200 meters, finishing 13 of 35 with a time of 27.23 seconds. Plant wrapped up her weekend with a 30th place finish out of 58 with a toss of 10.47 meters.

Other Ravens action came in the form of junior Nicki Zeigler (Circleville, N.Y.) and sophomore Miranda Gagnon (Rollinsford, N.H.). Zeigler finished 15th out of 35 competitors in the 200 meters, finishing only moments after Galewski with a time of 27.27 seconds. Gagnon competed in javelin, and came out with an outstanding 8th place finish out of 50 competitors with a throw of 38.81 meters.

The Ravens return to the track next Saturday, March 28 when they compete in the Snowflake Classic held at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.
